Overview
Liu Guangding born Peng Lai of Shandong of ancestral home on December 29, 1929. Graduated from the department of physics of Beijing University in 1952. He set up China's first marine physical prospecting team in 1958. Took the post as ocean vice chief of geological department, geological deputy bureau director of Office of Marine Geology of petroleum of Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1980. Took the post as the geophysics chief of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1989.He was elected society's president of Chinese geophysics in 1993, and was elected the academician of academy of sciences of the third world.Liu Guangding is an academician of incumbent Chinese Academy of Sciences, society's president of Chinese geophysics, honorary president of Chinese Society of Oceanography, " geophysics journal ", " whether geophysics develop" editor-in-chief, researcher of geology of Chinese Academy of Sciences and research institute of geophysics, academic director of supervisory committee, committee's director of the evelopment strategy, the member of the CPPCC National Committee. He is in charge of finishing of " Chinese marine geological structure and include oil and gas emperament research " obtains the national second prize of natural science of 1982, " Chinese sea area and field geology -serial pictures of geophysics " and monograph obtain the scientific and technological first prize of Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and national second prize of natural science of 1995 of 1993. He obtained" The working award of Zhu Kezhen field " in 1992 ,obtained " The scientific honorable mention of Li Siguang's geology "in 1993 ,and obtained " The progress prize in scientific and collective technology of He Liang and He Li " in 1997.
